The Bears beat the Houston Texans and Mitchell Trubisky is better than Deshaun Watson

The headline describes it all. Don’t look at the fact the Texans didn’t have their starting RB, or their 3 starting WR’s, and no healthy secondary. The Bears won fair and square. Starting off with a nice defensive stand, followed by an 80 yard TD run by David Montgomery, they were off and running (bad pun). The Texans scored their only points of the game on their following drive. The Bears defense decided to play against a very poor Texans OL, and dominated. 8 sacks, a safety, 2 forced fumbles (1 ST). It was fun to see that the defense decided to show what they’re fully capable of. Khalil Mack did a great job setting edge pressure and Roquan Smith was everywhere again. Sure Deshaun Watson ripped off a few runs, but give credit to Chuck Pagano, he actually adjusted! Miracle!

David Montgomery had an 80 yard TD run, then was ghosted in the play calls. He only ran the ball 10 more times since the first Bears offensive play. Totaling 33 yards on those 10 carries. They used Cordarelle Patterson on 6 carries and some screens. Mitch was pretty good to the clip of 24/33 267 yards, and 3 TD’s. He was sacked 3 times, but the biggest thing, 0 turnovers. Allen Robinson had a fantastic game to his credit as well with 9 catches for 123 yards and a TD. Graham had a goal line jump ball TD, and Darnell Mooney had a swing screen TD ball. The offense had decent field position all day, but was still stagnant at times. Cairo Santos added with 2/2 FG and 4/4 XP. It was a nice all around game to see from the Bears, keeping them “in the hunt”.

Deshaun Watson looked comfortable on the first two Texans drives, until adjustments were made to keep him contained in the pocket. Once the Texans were down by 2 TD’s, it was tee off time. The Texans couldn’t keep the pressure off, causing inconsistency in the run game as well. Watson still finished with a 101.9 QB rating, to the clip of 21/30 219 yards, and 1 TD. Watson had nobody to throw to, and his starting RB was out with COVID tracing. The Texans have been eliminated from the playoffs following the loss.
