Media Day brings the hype and questions for the ’22-23 season.
Yesterday, in between flashes of cameras and players’ pearly whites, the Chicago Bulls gave us a small glimpse into the vibes for the upcoming season. After a disappointing end last year, many are wondering how the Bulls will respond.
Several concerns come to mind when thinking of the ’22-23 Bulls. Right off the bat for me you have the knees of both Zach LaVine and Lonzo Ball, and which Nikola Vučević that will step onto the court this season. With Lonzo out for an undisclosed amount of time, we at least have Ayo Dosunmu as the go to PG in his absence and I am confident he’s the best for the job. Zach seems good to go from a health perspective, but can he handle the pressure to perform post max contract signage? Many say yes, including me.
Then there’s Nikola Vučević, admittedly my favorite Bull. This is where I’ll lose some readers but Vooch brings a veteran presence and floor management that this team needs. Especially with second year player Ayo suspected to handle PG duties as previously mentioned. I think Vooch is set for an improved year but only time will tell and I am still prepared for the twitter mentions to be very unkind when it doesn’t happen.

Speaking on a positive note, DeMar DeRozan is a Chicago Bull and his second year in their uniform brings opportunity for this team to go far. After a ridiculously impressive season fueled by all the haters who insisted the Spurs got the better deal, DeMar’s hungry to bring Chicago atop the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls begin their quest for a 7th title starting next week with their first preseason game October 4th against the Pelicans, and their first regular season game is on October 19th against Bulls legend Jimmy Buckets and the Miami Heat. Stay tuned for upcoming ASS predictions on where the Bulls stand within the East (AssCast dropping soon 👀).
